Corona Guestfarm

Description

CORONA is situated on the C26, just about half-way between Windhoek and the Atlantic Ocean (Walvis Bay). Combined to ajoining farm "Picadilly" - both forming part of the same estate - it offers the visitor a truly majestic and unspoilt wildlife scenery over an area which is double the size of the principality of Liechtenstein.

Surrounded by the mountain range, CORONA is positioned right in the centre of a plateau at the foot of the imposing "Gamsberg", at 2347 metres being one of the highest mountains in Namibia.

The newly erected CORONA, (rebuilt at the very same spot as the previous one, which had burnt down in 1995 shortly after its being opened for business) offers its guests accommodation of a pleasantly luxurious style, made up of
  • 4 de luxe (family-sized) suites,
  • 6 well-appointed single and/or double rooms, each one of them boasting its own private and individually decorated bathroom or shower
  • 4 luxury Safari tents with en-suite facilities. Various verandahs, cool resident's lounges, a small bar plus separate television lounge having on offer a full range of satellite programmes, a reading corner, and last but not least the refreshing pool sparkling in the Namibian sunshine, alongside where visitors can devote themselves to sunbathing or lounging in the shade beneath ancient jacaranda trees - all of this cannot but create an ideal ambience of those in need of getting away from it all, of relaxion in the true sense of the word.

We pride ourselves on our renowned cuisine catering for all and sundry, not neglecting vegetariens and on treating each one of our guests as one of the family which, together with the luxury equipment throughout the premises and grounds, we feel sure will not fail to impress you as well.

In addition to which and as befits the trust host, we can converse not only in the language of hospitality, but also in English, German and Afrikaans. In short - what awaits you here at reasonable rates is definitely off the beaten track, in a setting of nature and wildlife so unspoilt as to be hard to match anywhere in the world!
  • What to bring along?
Warm clothing during the winter months (May to August), hiking or sports shoes, track suit, swim wear, personal medication, suntan lotion and a camera.

It is always advisable for travellers to carry a tag containing their personal data such as name, date of birth, blood group, and details as to allergies and the like. CORONA is not situated in any malaria area; should you, however, intend travelling to the north of the country as well, please consult your doctor.

WHAT IS THERE TO DO AT CORONA?
That's up to you really, and depending on whether you wish to be super-active, just active, or to take it easy altogether. Enjoy your holiday just the way you want it. You can chose from a lot of things: Swimming, horse-riding, collecting gemstones, going in search of bushmen's drawings, taking part in farming activities, viewing and photographing game such as kudu, oryx, and the rare mountain zebra, and finally, at night, contemplating high above CORONA the starlit African sky of eternal splendour. Or, as an absolute highlight, climb up "Gamsberg" mountain?

On the other hand, you might as well just do nothing at all for a change but devote yourself to first-class eating, laze around in the sun and pick up th best tan you've ever had. In short: Give your soul a break.

You like to rough it, are thirsting for adventure? Then we recommend spending a night in our mountain hut at the foot of the "Gamsberg" (spectacular sunset guaranteed).
