We have marked all interesting trees and bushes with numbers on a 2km long route. In a detailed list you can read all about the special characteristics of these plants. If you prefer, one of our tour guides can accompany you. At the waterhole there is a small hide where you can stay a while and watch the activities - particularly in the early morning or evening. Game watching The diverse vegetation types support a variety of game. Following the removal of the fences game has become more abundant in the private game reserve as the animals can move more freely. Participating in different nature conservation projects has led to custodianship of rhinos in our reserve. Elephants are not found on this reserve. The following list shows all the mammals that could live on our reserve based on the existing habitat. Those that have already been observed are accented with large/italics. Good hunting! Bird watching There are wonderful bird watching possibilities all around the Etosha Aoba Lodge. In addition to the resident bird population the various migratory birds enhance the variety. The small bird bath next to the terrace of the Lapa attracts many birds. The following list shows all bird species that could be found in this area. If the species is printed in heavy italics then that species has been observed here. The species which are “nearly Namibian endemics” are suffixed with "NNE" whilst the South African "endemics" are suffixed "SANE" . The numbers shown in brackets are the reference numbers according to "Roberts' Birds of Southern Africa". Help us to identify more species - there is a bottle of wine waiting for you to celebrate a newly spotted species! The Swimming Pool From our swimming pool you have views of our adjacent waterhole. Tea, snacks and drinks are served directly by the pool. Just the right way to relax after a long drive or a full day photo shoot.
